and close features of Can Tho in particular, and Mekong Delta rivery region in general. That is not only the image of white rice from the immense rice fields but also the image of clear and fresh water from the rivers with high silt accumulation...All are drawing a picture of a peaceful and prosperous life with the sufficient conditions of clement weather, favorable terrain and united people.

Hau River, the lowest stream of Mekong River, has been daily innovated since Hung Phu Industrial Park appeared in the Map of Can Tho City with a series of project to build big plants under the invested capitals from local and overseas companies or corporations in different fields.

Cai Lan Oils & Fats Industries Company Limited - Can Tho Branch (Calofic Can Tho) - a joint venture between Kuok Oils and Grains Ltd., Singapore and Viet Nam's Vocarimex was established at that time, and in December 2003, the plant was officially put into operation, utilizing rice bran, abundant source of material in Mekong Delta to produce defatted rice bran and crude rice bran oil of high nutritional value.

After 05 years of operation, the company has made significant achievements, and in October 2008, Calofic Can Tho was demerged into Wilmar Agro Việt Nam Company Limited, a totally foreign-invested company under Wilmar International Group, Singapore.

The factory of Wilmar Agro Co. Ltd., (also known as Hung Phu Factory) in Hung Phu 1 Industrial Park, Tan Phu Ward, Cai Rang District, Can Tho City, is located by a side of the peaceful and silty Hau River, about 3 km far from Cai Cui Port which is expected as one of the central commercial ports, and 10 km far from Center of Can Tho City on the Southeast Can Tho Bridge, the longest bridge in Southeast Asia is also on this route, 5 km away from Hung Phu Factory.

The factory is located on a  four-hectare area with favorable waterways. This is the first rice bran oil extraction factory in Mekong Delta of which the consumption capacity reaches 500 tons of rice bran a day. The factory produces defatted rice bran and crude rice bran oil. The oil is refined into nutritious cooking oil for packed products and supplied to the domestic and oversea markets. Meanwhile, the high protein defatted rice bran is sold to fish farms as a main ingredient of fish food-stuff.

Up to now, there are about 100 employees working in industrial-standard departments and more than 300 seasonal workers working in production lines. With a team of active and young leaders,
Hung Phuc Factory is the nerve to manage other belonged factories in Mekong Delta provinces.
