Cam Vang - High nutrition defatted rice bran

Rice bran (RB) is commonly used as a main ingredient in aquaculture, poultry and cattle feed. It contains high nutrition value as protein, fat, fibre, vitamin B1 and mineral… Fresh rice bran has fragrant smell, good odors, slight yellow colour, enrich nutritions will be a good breed for many kinds of aquaculture, poultry and cattle.

However, some essential nutrition is disintegrated; hence, reduces feed nutrient value. There is very easy to recognize the oxidized RB by the rancid smell. Feed with rancid smell affects eating ability & feed effectiveness, harms to digestive system, this also causes diseases to them. If the rice bran was defatted fast after milling, rice bran will not be rancid and keep for a long time, table the nutrient indegrents in rice bran, ensuring good feed for animal and improving economic effectiveness.

Why is rice bran rancid in storage? There is a kind of natural enzyme will be hydrated in bran which is made rancid in rice bran – Lipase. This enzyme will excited and speed up the hydration oil in rice bran. As a research, free fatty acid content increase in bran is the result of moisture act upon lipase enzyme. Moisture in high temperature will lead the FFA in bran oil increase violent. Every hour, FFA goes up 1%, if RB storage 1 month at temperature 250C, FFA will increase 60-70%.

In Mekong Delta, there are more than 2 milion tons rice per year, an ambudant farm making many benefits to our agriculture. However, there is stil no best methods for storage. The maximum time  for fresh RB is one week. So, to keep for longer time, famers and large feed millers must dry rice bran. Thought people spent too much money,  it is stored maximum about 01 to 03 months.  Last time, some small famers even dry rice bran in the sun for long-time storage.

This is the first time in Viet Nam when Cam Vang Limitted Company applies a high technology – de-oil by extraction method. With technology and machines from Germany, the company has successfully extracted rice bran oil by hexane solvent and come into being “Cam Vang” – enrich protein rice bran, one of the best product with much more advantages than othernormal rice bran in market. Many breeding experiments have high assessed the deffated rice bran when they compare to nomal rice bran by dominant specifications. “Cam Vang” has low and stable moisture, high protein, vitamins, and minerals; low oil content, the storage time is increased 1 year. To produce Cam Vang product – enrich protein rice bran, company has exerted to carefully collect the best material in rice bran market at Mekong Delta, fresh rice bran, just milling, not contains extraous matter, low FFA, not harmful causes… With self-contained sourcing and production process being strictly managed according to the quality management procedure ISO 9001:2008, within 6-8 hours, fresh RRB must be transfered to rice bran collection centers of our Company in several provinces of Mekong Delta.
